Jimmy Fallon Egg Roulette

Zac Efron is fearless.

Super Bowl 50 champion Peyton Manning and NBA Hall of Famer Magic Johnson battled it out in a game of Egg Russian Roulette on The Tonight Show on Wednesday night. Two legendary athletes sat. Namely, John Cena tried his arms on dead lift with Fallon as the barbell, Fallon got into a roast-battle with Kevin Hart where his movie career was the subject of ridicule, and he also played Russian egg roulette with Bradley Cooper. Jimmy Fallon‘s version of Russian Roulette is far less deadly than the harrowing scene film fans might remember from 1978 war epic, “The Deer Hunter,” but almost as messy.

In fact, when he appeared as a guest on NBC's The Tonight Show Monday, the We Are Your Friends actor agreed to play a game of 'Egg Russian Roulette' with host Jimmy Fallon. The rules were simple: in a carton of one dozen eggs, eight of them were hardboiled, and the remaining four were still raw. Efron and Fallon would take turns smashing eggs on their heads, and the first to get two raw eggs would lose. Before choosing his first egg, Efron admitted, 'I feel like I'm in the last scene of Deer Hunter right now.' Fallon assured the actor that his game was 'more fun.'

Efron was confident about his first selection. 'You can kind of tell,' he said while shaking the egg. 'I'm pretty positive that this one is...' Fallon cut him off, shook his head, and told the actor, 'You can't tell.' As it turned out, Efron was right.

After Fallon picked up his first egg, he admitted, 'It kind of feels like there's something goopy in here.' Fortunately, he'd chosen a hardboiled one, too. Efron knew he was in for it after he decided to pick up his second egg without looking. 'Oh, I know that this one's wet,' he said. 'I already know it's wet. I just...I can tell.' Before cracking it on his head, he said, 'I loved this suit before.'

There was even a slowmo replay.

Fallon lucked out on his second try. He wasn't always so fortunate, though.

'You have so much egg on your face—literally and figuratively,' Efron said.

Pitch Perfect 2 is a movie that takes a relatively low-stakes situation — collegiate a capella — and makes it feel like the most urgent matter in the world. “I find that really charming!” Anna Kendrick told TIME recently. “It doesn’t have to be like, the city’s going to blow up if we don’t defuse the bomb.” So when the actress stopped by Jimmy Fallon’s The Tonight Show to promote the sequel, in theaters Friday, it was only right that she made a silly, pointless game feel as tense as a riff-off.
