Johnny Z’s Casino History

Johnny Z’s casino was opened in 2010 as the Reserve Casino Hotel, as the first property owned by Colorado-based CC Gaming LLC.

The location was formerly known as The Central Palace Casino, which operated in Central City throughout the 1990s. CC Gaming LLC purchased the property for $725,000 from former owner George Maloof, subsequently renovating it to the tune of $5.5 million to become Johnny Z’s Casino. It is now owned and operated by Maverick Gaming LLC, who purchased Johnny Z’s Casino–along with two other CC Gaming LLC casinos–in September 2019.

Johnny Z’s Casino features slot and video machines only, with a range of over 350 machines on the gaming floor. For those who enjoy table games, their sister property The Grand Z Casino Hotel is only a four-minute walk away.

The Grand Z also provides the convenient accommodation for customers of both properties and is directly offered via Johnny Z’s website. The hotel features 119 recently-renovated rooms, as well as free parking.
